The Protein Works is one of the UK leaders in protein-based products via online channels. YFM’s Manchester office led a Management Buyout of the Protein Works in May 2019. As part of this process, Whitecap Consulting gave their external opinion on the robustness of management’s investment plan. Whitecap’s Commercial Due Diligence report focused on TPW’s ability to withstand changes in the price of its core product and their ability to exploit protein powder’s cultural shift from a ‘bodybuilder’ to mainstream customer base. Whitecap included post-buyout recommendations and led a Strategy Day with the Executive team.
PanIntelligence is a Business Intelligence software company providing partners and vendors with a white-label Business Intelligence tool. YFM’s Leeds office led a £4.5m Series A funding round and Whitecap took on an advisory role, providing an external second opinion culminating in a CDD report. Whitecap examined the commercial ‘assumptions’ made in PI’s business plan, looking closely at PI’s ability to capitalise on their partner network and to build new customer relationships. Whitecap’s work included in-depth partner interviews, competitor analysis and market research.
