Neil is a strategic and commercially focused Finance Director with experience and expertise in helping diverse private sector businesses during periods of growth, transition or challenge.

A Chartered Director and Chartered Management Accountant, Neil has a proven track record of operating successfully at senior management and Board levels across a number of business sectors.

He has a particular interest in using his Finance Director experience within companies on a part-time basis. Working within companies as a part-time Finance Director enables companies to access his experience in a targeted and affordable manner.

Neil has an open inclusive style and as a part-time Finance Director works within companies very much as a part of the senior team. His approach is to obtain an understanding of the Managing Director’s vision or particular immediate issue, agree the objectives and deliverables within his part-time brief, and utilise his skills and experience to deliver the objectives in an effective and timely manner. Utilising Neil as a part-time Finance Director will free the Managing Director to work on the business and deliver their Vision.

Neil operated at the Executive Finance Director level of growing SME’s for 20 years, during which time he led, from a finance point of view, in the acquisition of and growth to trade sale of a number of companies. He is particularly interested and experienced in cash flow management, profit analysis, financial forecasting, raising growth finance, exit planning, the delivery of strategic aims, risk management and compliance and the establishment of strong internal controls. He very much enjoys acting as the trusted critical friend and independent sounding board for the Managing Director.

In his spare time Neil is keen on football and cricket (pensioned off to spectatorship) and an active runner and hill walker.
