Whitecap runs FinTech Advisory Centre at FinTech Connect Live

This week Whitecap will be participating in FinTech Connect Live at ExCel in London. With over 3000 visitors, and 200 exhibitors and partners, FinTech Connect Live is the UK’s largest FinTech event.

FinTech Connect Live is host to 4 strategic conference sessions with inspirational case studies from around the world, a technology buyers theatre with 50 product demos, 12 educational workshops tackling practical fast growth challenges, and two full days of dedicated mentoring clinics for start up leaders.

Whitecap will be on stand C16, where we are hosting a FinTech Advisory Centre in partnership with Complete Resourcing. On the stand we will also be promoting FinTech North and Investor Ladder propositions.

If you are attending, then we hope to see you there. If you have not yet signed up, attendance is free and more information can be found here: http://www.fintechconnectlive.com/

In advance of the event, the organisers asked us a few questions surrounding the Fintech ecosystem. We’ve published this Q&A below:

Which current trends or developments in the industry are you most excited about?

Open Banking offers a huge range of opportunities to organisations of all sizes and genuinely has the potential to revolutionise numerous areas of the financial services industry.

What makes your company a leader in this field?

We are a regional strategy consulting firm based in Leeds, Manchester and Milton Keynes with a strength in FinTech. I think in our line of work what makes us different is that we’re not based in London.

What will your message be at Fintech Connect Live?

We’d like to speak to established companies looking to understand and adapt to the challenges and opportunities that FinTech offers. We’re sharing the FinTech Advisory Centre stand with Complete Resourcing, who can help with resourcing and funding in FinTech.

How will your services benefit the fintech Industry?

We bring structure and planning into all the project work we are involved in, which helps organisations achieve their potential and create value.

Where in the fintech sector do you see your focus for growth?

Our clients are primarily established organisations looking to understand and adapt to the challenges and opportunities that FinTech offers. Our clients include businesses but also other organisations including universities, who we find are increasingly interested in FinTech.

In your view, what are the main challenges in the fintech industry at the moment?

Making the right decisions about what to do and when, and what to invest in and when. Things are changing so quickly but digital transformation to meet the current and future needs of their customers is a challenge for all existing FS businesses.

What in your opinion is the future of fintech?

There’s a central role for highly personalised automation in a regulated environment, particularly driven by AI and machine learning.

Are there any specific projects or success stories that have made a huge difference that you can share?
We’re the co-founders of an event-based brand called FinTech North, which has now held multiple events and has helped create a FinTech community that did not previously exist. We’re planning major events across the north of England with some amazing speakers.
