Whitecap Directors Julian Wells and Lal Tawney will present on “How the north has become a powerhouse for UK FinTech”.
Whitecap have been heavily involved in the FinTech sector over the last few years, including co-founding a thriving events-based community under the FinTech North brand. The UK is seen as the FinTech capital of the world, with the north becoming recognised as a key UK FinTech hub and an increasingly important contributor to the national and international FinTech economy.
Within the north there are a number of significant cities, and at the end of last year, Whitecap undertook a review of the size and make-up of the “FinTech Ecosystem” in the Leeds City Region with the support of Leeds City Council and a number of public and private sector stakeholders. The presentation at the business breakfast will outline the key learnings from Whitecap’s work across the north and will particularly focus on the review, highlighting some of the key components it identified to help a region to gain competitive advantage in this fast-growing tech sector.
